At the age of seven he began to get acquainted with his first instrument, a Bontempi toy keyboard given by his father.
For about four years Maurizio follows the music lessons privately until the moment when, at the age of 11, he decides to tackle the study of the classical piano under the guidance of some teaching teachers at that time at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence. From the age of 14 to 18 he attended the Liceo Classico Cicognini in Prato, which further influenced his musical career. In fact, at the age of 16 he found himself playing with a group of young musicians for the first time thanks to some parties organized by the school itself. From that moment the awareness of wanting to play a certain type of music, that is modern music, arises within him.
Having reached classical maturity, Maurizio Tomberli starts playing in different formations, gradually coming into contact with a completely new and increasingly professional musical reality. At the age of nineteen, a fundamental meeting: he came into contact with Walter Savelli, historic pianist of Claudio Baglioni and "creator" of modern teaching in Italy. He becomes his piano student and for three years, under his guidance, he perfects his piano style, learns the use of technologies (computers, sequencers, etc.) and approaches the field of arrangements. Since 1991 he has taken on the role of teacher within the LMWS (Walter Savelli Music Laboratory). Over the past 17 years (1991-2009) alongside Walter Savelli he has had the opportunity to specialize in teaching modern music and to make it his primary activity.
He has participated in the realization of the musical programs of the CDs attached to some of Walter Savelli's didactic books (books among the best-selling at national level) such as the "Method for Pop / Rock Piano" and "Rock Evolution" (Berben editions).
Since 2009 he has fully collected the didactic heritage of the Walter Savelli Music Laboratory (LMWS), becoming the owner. In addition to teaching modern piano, the LMWS school specializes in teaching modern singing, bass, guitar, composition, through its collaborators. In parallel a lot of live activity.
Since 2001 Maurizio has been a pianist / singer of the Oversea Orchestra, a string orchestra directed by Maestro Filippo Martelli who performs Rock songs in chamber ensembles, playing with high-caliber musicians, such as Riccardo Galardini, Stefano Cocco Cantini and many others.
Since 2010 pianist of the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Florence.
He formed his own group, the "Maurizio & Beat Generation Projet" with whom he performs in conventions and parties in Italy and abroad. In other cases my live training is as a soloist or as an acoustic two. From spring 2013 to September 2016 Maurizio is the Didactic Director of the Ciac Cantus Planus music school in Rome, a reality present in the capital since 1975.
From 23 to 25 May 2014 three intense performances of "METAmorfosi" saw him on the stage of the Ghione Theater in Rome together with Vinicio Marchioni (director of the show), Walter Savelli (author of the music) Giovanni Baglioni and the ballet company of Milena Mancini .
From 2016 to 2019 he publishes three educational books dedicated to the modern piano: "The pop piano" "The modern solfeggio" studies for modern piano " Buyable on Amazòn.
In 2019 Maurizio Tomberli opens in concert piano and voice the first prestigious event dedicated to women's fashion "Fashion Week" in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. There are many public awards for his live activity. Among the main ones, those received from Elton John and Sting.
